One Lovely Blog Award

one lovely blog awardThe fabulous Trista over at Domesticated Momster recently nominated me for a one lovely blog award, and I’d like to thank her very much! You can read her own post here. I was also nominated by lovely Louise over at Big Hearts Little Love before Xmas, but didn’t get round to it then.

Meme’s are a little like London buses though aren’t they, because this came hot on the heels of my #50Things tag. To continue the meme, I have to tell you seven things about me, then nominate some of my favourite bloggers to carry this on. Right, here goes.

1. My name (ReneΓ©) is a typo. Seriously, just like Keira Knightly, but sadly this is where our similarities end. My mother had heard the name in passing, loved it and decided to call me it. The correct French way of spelling my name is RenΓ©e, because having the accent on the second e means the sound the last two ee’s make is ‘ay’. Basically having the accent on the third e renders is pointless.

2. I have had three surnames in my 35 years, and technically I am a Saint (my father’s surname which I’ve never been known by).

3. I am absolutely convinced that feeding our bodies with the best nutrition we possibly can is the most important thing we can do for them. I get really cross with people that say things along the lines of ‘there is no link between the food we eat and the effect it has over our health’ gggrrr. Pop over to my other blog for an insight into my world.

4. I am passionate about cooking and eating delicious real food, and love nothing more than watching my kids enjoy it too.

5. Although I would love to write a novel at some point, I’m starting to think that my next book might be another part memoir, part self-help title about parenting challenging kids. Hellllooooooo, three hours broken sleep anyone? Mind you it might be a very short book that simply says DRINK LOTS OF COFFEE!

6. I adore my husband more than any other adult on this planet, but man can that dude press my buttons and wind me up!

7. My first and third children were happy accidents – which is quite something considering that two years prior to conceiving my eldest I was categorically told that I would need assistance when the time came. This brings me right back to point three – you can read about this in more detail here if you like.

And a bonus one. My little blog turns two on Wednesday. Stay tuned for a competition to celebrate!

So there are a few facts about me. I would like to nominate the following bloggers for their one lovely blog award. No pressure to join in of course, but should you want to, please tell us 7 facts about your lovely selves πŸ˜‰

  1. Good food definitely links with well being; i really could eat better. These memes sure gets you thinking about key things to share; the forwarding nominatin can be quite a challenge, knowing who has done which ones.

    Good share about you. #allaboutyou

  2. Great facts, I wouldn’t know where to put the accent so it still reads how it sounds to me ha! Happy bloggy birthday! Mine is on Monday πŸ™‚ Thank you for joining in #HappyDaysLinky xx

  3. Thank you so much for the nomination. I did this a while back so here is the link to my seven facts :)http://awesomeausterity.com/?p=207

  4. This post made me smile πŸ™‚ Totally with you on the healthy food – healthy body/mind/everything else thing. I fall apart very quickly if I don’t pay attention to that one! Happy two year blog birthday lovely πŸ™‚ xx

  5. Great post. I never noticed the accent was in the wrong place on your name. I love your book idea about drinking lots of coffee. I’m sure there’s a title in there somewhere.

  6. It’s surprising to me that anyone could ever say that what they eat doesn’t have an affect on their wellbeing. Of course, there are other factors, but food plays a significant part. Ah well.

Happy belated two-year birthday to your blog!
    #HappyDays

  7. I love the fact that your mum spelt your name incorrectly. That is brilliant and makes you really unique (just Keira Knightly). And congratulations on your blog being two tomorrow. Hugs Mrs H xxxx

  8. Ah, the mystery behind the spelling of your name is revealed at last! It makes it unique though! I love that idea for another non-fiction book. You have plenty of experience to drawn on so it really makes sense. thanks for linking to #whatImwriting. xx

  9. I love how honest you have been in these.

I too can’t understand how people can say there’s no link between the food we eat and the effect it has on our health – ridiculous!

    Thanks for joining our #HappyDaysLinky

    Jenna at Tinyfootsteps xx

  10. They’re good facts! I agree and cannot understand anyone that doesn’t think that what they put in their bodies, effects their health- Ludicrous! Happy Almost blog birthday! Dropping in via the Oliver’s Madhouse linky x

  11. Absolutely loved this! It’s great to know more about you, especially the happy little typo that was your name. It makes you even more one-of-a-kind and completely unique in my opinion.

  12. Lovely to read more about you. I agree about the importance of a good diet, although this means I have to close my eyes to the rubbish my 8 year old eats. I have lost so many hours of my life in food battles that I’ve decided she’ll come around when she’s ready and hoping that time is sooner rather than later!!

  13. That is pretty cool – you have a totally unique name! Thanks so much for nominating me, will have a go at fitting it in with the madness! A very happy blogaversary to you for Wednesday! xxx

  14. I love that your name is different because of a typo – although I’m now wondering if I’ve been spelling it wrong when I’ve replied to comments on my phone (where it is easier to add the accent) and added it to the second e rather than the third! I agree that there is definitely a link between food and health although I’m not always so good at eating healthily. I think you could write a very good book on parenting challenging children even if it does end up being just “DRINK LOTS OF COFFEE!” – that tends to get me through challenging days too (Lent was hard work though!). Lovely to find out more about you through this πŸ™‚

  15. I’m sure there are plenty of interesting things about you hon! Good luck with your teen, must be so hard at that age when all their mates are eating junk the whole time xx

  16. Interesting stuff about your name. I was wondering why the accent was on the second ‘e’. Makes your name quirky! Happy early birthday to your blog my lovely!

  17. I love reading these- they never get old for me!! I had to spend ages scrolling up and down to see what was different about your name!

  18. i love finding out more about other bloggers this way. I’m so with you on nutrition, my teenager has zits at the moment & I’m trying to drum healthy eating habits into him too,, despite others saying it’s nothing to do with what he’s eating. Thanks for nominating me, just got to think of something interesting other than in a mum who walks a dog & blogs! X
